July Meeting: Erin Taylor Young

OKC Christian Fiction Writers will host author Erin Taylor Young on Saturday, July 18, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Ms. Young will speak on Five Crucial Ways to Safeguard Your Writer’s Heart. Writers feel pressured, stressed, and under attack in so many different ways these days, but some of the most debilitating attacks are those to the writer’s heart. Discouragement. Frustration. Questioning our purpose. We’ve all been there, but we don’t have to stay there. In this session, you’ll learn 5 crucial ways to safeguard your heart and free yourself to write with the authenticity and purpose God desires for you.

Erin Taylor Young’s debut book, Surviving Henry, published by Revell Publishing, was released August 5, 2014. Ms. Young is an acquisitions editor and author liaison for Redbud Press, a publishing company she helped to found. Passionate about helping others embrace deep places with God, she teaches workshops about writing and publishing, produces podcasts, and is the co-creator of Write From the Deep and Live From the Deep. She’s also an accomplished humor writer. Her recent book, Surviving Henry: Adventures in Loving a Canine Catastrophe, has been repeatedly accused of making readers laugh until they cry.
