March Speaker; Dr. Robert Wise

OKC Christian Fiction Writers will be hosting Dr. Robert Wise on Saturday, March 27 from 1:00-3:00pm. Dr. Wise will be discussing How to Write a Christian Mystery . . . Or How Do You Feature Murder and Mayhem in a Nice, Quiet Church? He will explain the unique features of putting a Christian mystery together and the challenges of the genre.

Writing widely for numerous publications, Dr. Robert Wise is a frequent contributor to Leadership, Christianity Today, The Christian Herald, and The Church Herald. Wise is an archbishop, author, lecturer, and Bible teacher who has spoken throughout North and South America, as well as Europe, Russia and the Far East.

His non-fiction works include Healing of the Past, How Not To Go Crazy, When There Is No Miracle, When The Night Is Too Long, and many others. Dr. Wise has also ghost authored 3 books including The Death of Innocents, the parents' story of the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, and co-authored 3 books with Dr. Paul Meier; The Third Millennium, The Fourth Millennium, and Beyond the Millennium.

He is the author of 11 fiction novels including The Pastor's Barracks, The Scrolls of Edessa, The Dawning, The Exiles, & All That Remains. Dr. Wise's most recent novels include a new mystery series beginning with The Empty Coffin, The Dead Detective, and Deleted. In addition, he has also released Be Not Afraid, a love story set in World War II, The Narrow Road at Colditz, The Bitter Road to Dachau, & The Secret Road Home.

His upcoming releases include Wired! from Time Warner books, and Tagged! Shrouded in Silence will be released from Abingdon Press in 2011.

OCFW meets on the fourth Saturday of the month from 1:00-3:00pm in the back room of Mardel Christian Education and Books, located on the corner of 33rd St. & Boulevard in Edmond, OK.

  1. I can't wait for this Saturday's meeting! Dr. Wise sounds like an awesome speaker and since I'm interested in mystery and suspense it is right up my alley. Kudos to whoever snagged this speaker!
